Dr. Chandra Sekhar Pemmasani
Dr. Chandra Sekhar Pemmasani, M.D., is the founder and CEO of UWorld. At age 25, he founded USMLEWorld (rebranded as UWorld). What started in a university dorm room has since evolved into a leading force in education that has helped millions of students achieve their educational and career dreams. In addition to medical, UWorld now offers products in accounting, finance, graduate school, high school, nursing, and pharmacy, with additional products under development.
The idea for UWorld originated during Dr. Pemmasani’s medical residency, in response to requests from several colleagues seeking help studying for their entrance exams. After writing a 200-page review and study guide for the US Medical Licensing Examination (USMLE), Dr. Pemmasani took the manuscript to several publishers, who advised him to return when he had completed his medical training. Dr. Pemmasani turned instead to the internet and developed several online review products while maintaining his full residency schedule.
